Wonderful
Myself and 3 siblings have stayed a number of times previously so can state that there was a huge improvement in breakfast quality this time. ALL Staff were very professional and friendly. Lunch was delicious, plentyful and good value. Balcony in room a delightful bonus. We will obviously be returning. Well done.
Arrived off train at 12.20 and I know that it is 3pm check in. However my siblings rooms were ready before 3 while I had to wait til 3.24 for the phone call. Therefore it was not til at least 3.30 that I actually got the key. On day of checkout the household team had started rooms on my (4th floor) before 10am so I don't understand why I had such a wait when I arrived.

Location
Being told I had to reserve a table in the bar when there were 10free tables, nobody said we had to book a table when we arrived, having bouncers standing in the lobby instead of outside, quite intimidating.

Very Good
Great location. Helpful staff.
Just a minor thing but mirror in room away from table for doing hair, makeup etc. Which was a bit awkward when using straightener.

Bed was hard but room was beautiful, just think they need to change their mattresses , better booking at hotel as third party site are more expensive!

Very central. Staff were excellent and very kind in allowing us to change our booking last minute due to an illness.
Lift was very iffy. Hotel key card stopped working when we got home and we had to get it updated at reception to get to our floor. Lots of other guests had issues operating the lifts and at times it kept saying “floor cancelled”. The double bed in 201 was two single beds pushed together so wasn’t the most comfortable. Check out was at 12pm and at 11.20am the doors were being knocked on by the accommodation staff.

Beautiful setting, lively onside bars, food delicious, friendly pleasant staff.
I prefer a walk in shower as opposed to over bath shower. However shower was of good quality pressure.
